Robert Sherwin B.S.-Texas Christian University Moudy South 277 Robert Sherwin is a home-grown product of the Schieffer School of Journalism. Professor Sherwin graduated with his news-editorial journalism degree from TCU in 1998, where he served as the managing editor of the TCU Daily Skiff and was named the department’s senior scholar. He then went to work in Washington, D.C., for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, a non-profit coalition of journalists and lawyers formed to protect the rights guaranteed by the First Amendment. After working for the Reporters Committee, Professor Sherwin attended Texas Tech University School of Law, where he served as an editor on the Texas Tech Law Review and penned the article ‘Source’ of Protection: The Status of the Reporter’s Privilege in Texas and a Call to Arms for the State’s Legislators and Journalists. He also competed on the Texas Tech national and state moot court teams, finishing third in the nation at the prestigious American Bar Association national competition. Since 2001, Professor Sherwin has practiced law in Fort Worth with the firm of Brackett & Ellis, P.C., specializing in business litigation and intellectual property law — including copyright and trademark infringement. Sherwin is also an adjunct professor at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, where he coaches the law school’s nationally ranked moot court teams and assists students in the area of legal writing and oral advocacy. 06.14.07 |
