Dr. Raskopf has had more than 30 years of practical experience in
advertising and public relations. He started his public relations career as
an assistant in the public relations department of the University of Iowa.
He was with Rockwell International Commercial and Defense Electronics companies
for 10 years, starting out as an advertising copywriter and then holding positions
as public relations manager, regional advertising and public relations manager
and finally corporate director of advertising and public relations. He was
responsible for the advertising output of 14 product lines in the United States
and internationally and for corporate public relations.
He served as assistant to the president for advertising and public relations
at the University of Dallas.
As owner/founder of Jack Raskopf Commercial Writing, Inc., he has conceptualized
and implemented advertising and public relations programs and individual features,
ads and commercials in all media for an array of clients.
On active duty in the Naval Reserve, Dr. Raskopf was a public affairs officer
serving in various commands domestically and overseas. While on sabbatical
leave from the university, he was a public affairs officer at the U.S. Naval
Academy. He is a retired Navy captain.
He was named 1987 Outstanding Advertising Educator in the Southwest by the
American Advertising Federation.
