Mark has worked for newspapers in Texas, Florida, Missouri and the Carolinas since graduating from the University of Texas at Austin.
His winding career path has included stops at the Charlotte Observer, the Houston Post and the Corpus Christi Caller Times, and he's covered everything from tourism and healthcare to city hall and politics.
Currently he is the projects editor at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where he has worked since 2001.
Mark has taught reporting courses as an adjunct instructor at the University of Missouri, Winthrop University in South Carolina and, for several semesters, in the Schieffer School.
