Dean SlaterIt is my pleasure to welcome you to the College of Communication at TCU, the fastest growing communications school in the region. While the College is relatively new, its programs are among the oldest and best in the Southwest. In fact, the College ranks among the top ten programs of private institutions in the United States.

We’re not resting on our laurels, however. It is our goal to become the top private school program in the nation. And we’re rapidly heading toward that goal. We continue to invest in high quality faculty and the facilities to support them. We are busy adding equipment to our computer labs, television studios and post-production facilities. We are adding state-of-the-art classrooms.

The distinguished faculty is critical to the success of our mission. Not only do they provide students with the best in professional training, they also instill within them a sound understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and obligations they will have as future communications professionals.

Our student enrollment now numbers close to 1,000. Our plan is to keep the enrollment at that number, and to be highly selective in our recruitment and admissions policies. We want to attract the best prepared 1,000 students available.

We encourage capable students to take a look at our programs. Please explore this website to learn more about our school. We offer opportunities for learning and professional preparation in many fields, including advertising, broadcasting, film, journalism, public relations, telecommunications, and communication studies (speech communications).

And please come and visit to see for yourself. Whether you are an alumnus, a member of the TCU community, a prospective student or parent, we welcome you to look around and talk with us. I am always interested in your ideas and suggestions.
