Candidates for Dean of the College of Communication
Dear Friends,
As you may know, last Fall Dean Bill Slater indicated he planned to resign his position as Dean in the College of Communication, effective May 31, 2008. After a year long sabbatical, Dr. Slater anticipates returning to the faculty.
We immediately appointed a search committee chaired by Dr. John Tisdale of the Schieffer School to begin the process of finding a new dean. The committee, working with R. William Funk and Associates, has done an excellent job in producing a pool of over 65 candidates and nominees. This past weekend, the Search Committee conducted airport interviews and has recommended bringing four candidates to campus for a daylong introduction to the TCU Community. We would like you to be a part of that introduction and evaluation process.
We have scheduled an Open Forum from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the Tucker Technology Building, Roach Conference Room 139. During that forum the candidate will discuss the challenges for Colleges of Communication and his/her vision for how each would handle those challenges as Dean of Communication at TCU. Following the Forum, the Faculty is invited to come by and meet the candidate in the Tucker Building, Room 200, from 10:30 till 11:10.
Listed below are the candidates and the dates of the presentations. We hope you can join us and provide your perspective regarding who should be the future leader of the TCU College of Communication.
Cordially,
Nowell Donovan
