Welcome
to the College of Communication.
Thank you for your interest. The study of communication is an
all encompassing experience that includes how we understand each other
on a very personal level as well as the global experience of understanding
diverse cultures. Graduates from our departments of Radio Television
Film, Communication Studies and the Schieffer School of Journalism are
prepared to become leaders in the Communication industries. Our
students are grounded in the histories, theories, and production requirements
of the global market. Our student publications continue to win
national, state, and regional awards.
Our faculty is among the best in their fields of study. We currently
have faculty who are in the top five percent in the country in their
research productivity, who have earned two national Emmy awards, the
CINE golden eagle award, numerous telly awards, and numerous regional
awards. This faculty is active in their research and professional
activities that they bring into the classroom. A successful
program requires an opportunity to have a personal and professional relationship
with their students. At TCU our small classrooms and labs give
you the opportunity to have a life changing experience in an educational
setting that few other Colleges and Universities offer.
Our international programs are a source of pride for me. We have
developed academic relations with Colleges and Universities in London,
England; Rome, Florence, and Tuscania, Italy; Puebla, Mexico, and Santiago
and Tumeco, Chile. We continue to work to expand opportunities
for our students and faculty in an international setting. TCU has
programs that span a much larger geographical field including Nagoka,
Japan; Lima, Peru; Budapest, Hungary; Auckland, New Zealand among others. The
College of Communication continues to be an integral part of TCU’s
International programs.
I hope you take the opportunity to browse this site and consider learning
more about the programs we offer. Come and visit our beautiful
campus and learn what becoming a Horned Frog is really all about.
